Jennifer's teaching philosophy:
"...My philosophy of education centers around two principles. Firstly, that learning is a naturally occurring event; that as individuals we have an instinctive attraction to understanding the world around us. As an educator it is my responsibility to provide students with a range of opportunities that allow them to experience their environment in new and interesting ways, encourage questioning and foster their curiosity for learning. In other words to help them enjoy the process of learning about music as much as the final product of performing. It is also imperative that teachers create a learning environment that promotes respect and collaborative relationships, and allows students to build self confidence. Secondly, that music should play a role in every child’s educational experience. Art, whether visual or performing, is the only academic pursuit that facilitates the understanding of aesthetic experiences, while providing students with an opportunity to develop a wide range of skills that promote overall well being and enrich quality of life. ..."
