When I began teaching in students' homes in 1997, I quickly developed more students than I could handle and began hiring teachers. We have since become the largest private employer of music teachers in Indiana and we have begun to reach out throughout the US and Canada. By providing a variety of support services, we are able to develop students for teachers while they focus on teaching. Many parents and adult students prefer having a discussion with a qualified placement director to assist with teacher selection. Parents are also assured that the teacher has been selected based upon ability, background checks, and reference checks. I am invariably available to answer questions and create appropriate matches when parents or adult students contact us about lessons. This also allows me to screen callers and eliminate those who are not serious candidates for lessons. Additionally, we attempt to establish their ability to pay for lessons. We now have a team of advertising, blogging, IT, HR, business, accounting, and academic staff to support your efforts to develop more students. If you choose to work for us, we provide more than a matching service. If you teach in students' homes we make extra efforts to develop additional students in each neighborhood where you teach. If you have a studio, we refer students to you based upon your prerequisites and location. On average, adding 1 student to the roster will increase your income by approximately $900 per year. If you drive to homes, taking an additional student in the neighborhood, even at a reduced cost, increases income without increasing expense. Many of our teachers have been with us since we began the program, and we believe this is because they value our service. schoolofmusic.com advertises and promotes extensively to locate students in each area who are an appropriate match for its teachers. Prospective students can also locate you through any of our four websites. When our teachers have openings, schoolofmusic.com advertises on numerous websites, in various publications, and through blogs and social networks. We may do a direct mailing to households in neighborhoods where our teachers already travel. We also contact schools, neighborhood organizations, churches, and synagogues to promote private and group teaching opportunities. Options include: * working for us so that you are on our list of qualified instructors when parents or adult students call; * advertising with us so that students and parents are able to reach you directly, saving you from paying a percentage to us; * advertising and working with us so that students are able to reach you either way. |
